Tom Keane Leads Windows Azure

Tom Keane is a Software Developer at Microsoft with over 20 years of experience within the cloud services field. He specializes in building software systems for both internal and external customers. Previously he was the Technical Account Manager for Windows Azure Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, Technology Evangelist for Windows Azure AppFabric.                 

He also performed as a member of the Platform Engineering team where he worked on the Hyper-V and Storage platform. Tom speaks at events around the world about Microsoft Azure, Windows Azure and Cloud Computing topics. Tom Keane is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer and is also a trainer for various Microsoft certifications. He is a Messaging Architect in the office of the CTO of a financial services company. 

Tom has contributed to several books on .NET, Windows, and cloud computing. He is a Microsoft Silverlight MVP and author of the book, “Silverlight 5 Unleashed”. Tom Keane is also one of the founding members of the Silverlight Business Apps Community. 

The software developer and engineer Tom Keane was a co-organizer of Microsoft .NET in Manchester and is the North West Regional Chair for the Microsoft .NET User Group (NWU). He is also a member of the Local User Group for the North West Region and is an active contributor to the Silverlight Community and Microsoft TechNet Blogs. 

The successful cloud services engineer has also contributed to several Silverlight training courses, including Silverlight 1 & 2 Unleashed, Silverlight 4 Unleashed and Mastering Silverlight 4. He holds an honors degree in Computer Science from Lancaster University. Tom Keane was awarded business analyst certification by Microsoft in 2005 and has since then been working as an independent consultant with his own consultancy company, Tom Keane Consulting Ltd.
