Chad Price is the CEO of Mako Medical

Chad Price is the CEO of Mako Medical, which develops medical devices. He was born in the United States and raised in Colorado. He attended college at the University of Colorado, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. After graduating from college, Price worked for several companies.

Price founded Mako Medical Devices to develop medical devices that could be used for surgical procedures. In 2000, Price and his team began developing Mako Tools, a medical device that can be used to provide anesthesia during surgery.

Price realized that there were significant problems with current anesthetics methods because they could not provide patients with enough pain relief while simultaneously providing them with adequate anesthesia levels. To address these problems, Price created Mako Tools as a solution.

The first product developed by Mako Tools was a tube inserted into the patient’s mouth and then connected to an IV drip bag filled with an anesthetic solution via tubing buried within the box itself (Mako Tool). Anesthetics are then pumped into the IV during surgery and released at various times throughout surgery; this allows for more pain-free surgery than traditional methods (Mako Tool).

In 2003, Price launched his second product called Mako Anesthesia Cartridge (Mako Cartridge), which is used during anesthesia procedures (Price & Yee, 2003). His third product was Mako Rechargeable Anesthetic System (Mako RS), which provides anesthesia during surgery (Price & Yee, 2003). In 2004,

Mako Medical Devices was acquired by the Anesthesia Technologies Group (ATG) for $8.00 million. In 2005, Price left the ATG and founded Mako Medical, LLC. After forming his own company, Price began working on a new medical device called the Mako Endoscopic Surgical System (MES). The MES is a surgical system used to provide anesthesia during operations involving an endoscope (Price, 2007).
